Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream Review

Finally, it's here...

Holika Holika Peach Girl BB cream comes in a 50ml squeeze tube with a lip and cheek stain in the cap. The cap also has a little mirror.

The stain color is a peachy coral, it doesn't really flatter me but it's a nice touch. As a lip stain I found it to be really drying.

The color of this BB cream is greyish but it's not so grey that it makes me look corpse-like (although that's not a bad thing when you're a glamourous ghoul ;P ). The consistency is thick like a heavy face cream but don't fear it spreads evenly and effortlessly. It also doesn't feel heavy on the skin. One thing I do NOT like about this BB cream is how it settles into the lines on my forehead. I initially hated this BB cream and didn't touch it again for weeks because of that. Now, I do not wear it on my whole face- just my cheeks and nose.

As you can see above, compared to my Red Bean BB cream the Holika Holika one is much thicker and greyer. Both are only lightly blended out but you can see they both work pretty well for my skintone.

As far as wear goes this BB cream performs well. It stays in place all day even in the heat and humidity. Oil control is so-so but the the oil slick that is my face doesn't make it slide off. I still need to apply powder and blot.

This BB cream is a wee bit dewy if you do not set it with powder. The natural finish of it is dewier than Red Bean, which if you remember from my review, has a very natural skin-like finish.

Peach Girl covers the redness of my cheeks pretty well. I think the grey tone to it helps even it out.

In the following pictures Holika Holika Peach Girl is applied to only my cheeks and nose. My forehead and chin are wearing Skin Food Good Afternoon Peach Green Tea BB cream (which is about the same color as Red Bean only with a matte finish). Both BBs are set with powder, Fyrinnae Fluff. Fluff can sometimes make my skin look a bit washed out in pictures.

WITH FLASH

NO FLASH- excuse the derpface, I just woke up
In conclusion, here's the break down

WHAT I LIKED...
+ Blends easily
+ Long lasting
+ Good coverage (medium-full)
+ Easy to dispense
+ Comfortable to wear, not drying or greasy

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE...
- Cheek and lip stain did not flatter me
- Settles into lines on my forehead

  1. Nice review :) I prefer a bit of a desaturated look over a yellow tone, so this might be something for me. The holika holika moisture bb cream is a tad too dark and yellow for my liking, although it has a gorgeous finish.
