Fyrinnae Ultra Phantom
Knocked another off the ol' wish list... this is only my second Lip Lustre and I have to say I am in love. The formula for these things is amazing, so comfortable to wear. LLs are not glosses or lipsticks but something in between. They're basically a cream. The only problem I have with mine is they're hard to use when cold. I keep mine in my pocket instead of my purse when I plan on wearing it all day.
Ultra Phantom is described as a pink- blue duochrome. It's definitely more blue than pink on my end. It's sheer and full of superfine micro glitter so it's perfect for layering! It gives a great icy glow when used on top of other lip colors. Due to the slight pink duochrome it looks especially great over light pink lipstick.

BB Cream Update
Update for this review
After using it since the beginning of February here's what I feel it has done for my skin:
+ My skin is less dry, most of my dry patches are gone
+ It covers my pores really well
- It doesn't do anything for pimples
- It doesn't really help my oily forehead

BITCHes and Pointer Sisters
Ah, the acting challenge. This episode was hilarious mainly thanks to Latrice Royale, neck roller extraordinaire.
Latrice needs her own show. |
I was howling with laughter watching her, naturally she won the challenge. FULL RECAP HERE!
Sharon didn't pull any goth looks this week but still looked gorgeous both in the challenge (wearing a beaver suit no less) and on the runway. The annoying director hated her just on the basis of being spooky and she had a fight with the also annoying Phi Phi. Boring! All I can say is thank Ru Phi Phi is the only uber confrontational queen this season. I can't take much more of her stupid barking... Any way, Sharon was quite funny and played the ditzy girl stereotype very well. A little Lucille Ball and a Little Rose Nylund.
Milan and Madame LaQueer were in the bottom and served up a boring "lip sync for your life". Madame just pointed her finger all over the place and ripped off her wig. Milan went crazy all over the place and ripped off her dress and her wig. Ladies, keep ya clothes on and keep ya wigs on please. Milan shantéd and stayed and Madame shashayed away. The best part of the LSFYL was when Willam said of Milan, "she swiffered the floor with her taint". She really did too- go to logotv.com right now and watch it!
I'm starting to like Willam a little more each week, her delivery of those one liners is great. Latrice had a great one liner about BITCH being an acronym about being in control of yourself in Untucked. While Jiggly delivered one of the best lines of the night when she made the comment about Madame being a "pointer sister". Spot on!

Bow to the Queen
Congrats again to the fabulously spooky Sharon Needles! I love her campy goth character, it's entertaining and well above the other girls in the competition. She knows who she is, she's not still trying to figure out what kind of queen she wants to be. Sharon Needles is polished, ghoulish, and deadly funny.
If you're not watching RuPaul's Drag Race head on over to logotv.com and see what you're missing! This week's Lip Sync for Your Life was amazing!
My Pretty Zombie MDMA Blush
Knocked one off my wish list!
Let me start by saying I have a love/ hate relationship with blush. I am very pale and have horrible blotchy and extremely dark rosacea on my cheeks. The wrong blush brings this out in the worst way. It can make me look like a tomato instead of just a flattering flush of color. The right blush can help conceal the splotches and even out the redness.
This is definitely the right blush. My Pretty Zombie MDMA Blush is so pretty and is perfect for my skintone. It's a fairly pale rosey pink with gold shimmer. Applied sheer and blended out it would make a nice highlighter. This blush, unlike the L'oreal one I just reviewed is very pigmented. It's soft and blends really easily.
When I put this blush on my cheeks I don't even have to bother with shading under to bring them out. It instantly gives me Anjelica Houston cheeks.
My one complaint is that it's not perfectly blended, the first time I used it I got a streak of coral pigment across my cheek. It blended away easily enough at least. I've had this happen before with a few other indie face powders, it doesn't bother me too much but it might be a huge turn off for others.
Overall I really love this and will probably use it every day.
Ok... I tried REALLY hard to get a good picture of this stuff on my face. The lighting in my apt is crap and I can't get anything useful unless I catch the sunrise and it's not cloudy. This is the best picture I could get, hopefully it does a decent job of showing the color.

I look awful at this angle, just focus on the blush! |

L'oreal The One Sweep Sculpting Blush Review
I bought this in "poppy", which is a rosey pink for the blush side. I'm just going to cut to the chase and say don't waste your money on this piece of crap. I knew going in that the novelty brush wasn't going to do anything special and didn't even plan on trying it. This blush is pure rubbish even with out the silly brush.
As you can see from the picture one side is blush and one side is for sculpting. Applying blush to the top of your cheeks and a darker pigment under the cheek bone really defines them and brings them out. This product is a bit gimmicky, it comes with a special (and stupid looking) brush that is supposed to apply both products at once with a single sweep across your cheeks. I knew that was not going to look good, I would either end up with unblended streaks or barely visible product.
Click here to see the ridiculous brush, it's like one of those annoying and useless flat brushes a lot of compacts are coming with these days only with a curve so it can ride the cheek bone. The brush is really small and it's soft and fluffy. It feels fine across the face but it really is useless. It doesn't pick up product and it's too flimsy.
The brush, however, is not the reason why this product is terrible. The reason this product sucks is there's pretty much no pigment! I don't have any of my own pictures to show you because there was nothing to take a picture of! NOTHING shows up on my skin. I used my own brushes to apply it to my face and to the back of my hand and there's just nothing... the product is very powdery and just blows away or falls off. Even if I could get it to stick it's really just so poorly pigmented I still don't think I'd have much to show. I've tried rubbing my finger on it and then trying to pat it on my hand over face primer and I still can't get anything.
I can't believe I paid around $10 for this crap! Since I lost the receipt I'm stuck with it too. I never expect much from drug store products and usually I'm not too disappointed by them. I guess I was expecting too much to actually be able to see this product on my skin. Reading other reviews I see I'm not the only one with nothing to photograph.
I will be reviewing a REALLY awesome blush in the next coming days to make up for this junk.

Favorite Things
Synthetic dreads from I Kick Shins
IKS is a fantastic company, stellar products and stellar customer service.
Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shimmering Keratin Oil
Makes my hair shiny and soft with out being oily. Unlike other shine sprays I have used it doesn't wear off by the end of the day. The shine and softness actually last DAYS.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
I was hesitant to try this at first because it's $18 for a measly 0.35 oz! But that tiny amount actually lasts FOREVER. Each tube expires after 12 months and while mine is getting low I think I will have to toss it before I finish it. For real, it's been close to a full year and I haven't used up the tube. Plus this stuff never creases or fades and is absolutely fool proof. You never have to worry about getting just the right amount like you do with other primers. Mattes and shimmers all blend and apply effortlessly.
Demonia Riot 20s
What can I say, I pretty much live in these boots. They get me through rain, snow and mud and keep my feet dry and look awesome at the same time.

MAC Myth Lipstick
LOVE <3
What I love about this lipstick is it's a great nude for pale people like me. It goes on opaque and has a nice semi matte finish.HATE </3
What I hate about this lipstick is it's drying. I have dry lips to begin with so this lipstick doesn't help matters. It also makes dryness extremely noticeable and looks awful as it starts to wear. It just doesn't seem to love me as much as I love it. Wearing gloss over it helps but ruins the finish.

Lynnderella Nail Polishes Coming to Llarowe!
Just happened to peek at the Llarowe site and notice that Lynnderella polishes will soon be available. It doesn't say WHEN (ugh, I know), but hopefully it will be very soon.
I don't have any Lynnderella polishes myself because they're a little hard to get but I have seen some swatches and they are amazing. Check out Connect the Dots, such a cool glitter polish. Connect the Dots is shown as one of the polishes that will be on Llarowe so I hope to pick it up for myself. I'm also eyeing Mercury's Rainbow, Sweets to the Sweet, and Matter of the Heart.

NOTD- Purple Smoke
Another gradient YAAAY! *waves arms around like Kermit*
Here's what I did:
1. 1 coat Glitter Girl Frappe to all except ring finger
2. 1 thin coat Nubar Hologram Glitter to all except ring finger
3. 1 thin coat Revlon Grape Icy to nail tip to all except ring finger
4. 1 thin coat Revlon Grape Icy to the top 1/2 of nail to all except ring finger
5. 1 thin coat Revlon Grape Icy from tip to 3/4 of the way down the nail to all except ring finger
6. 1 thin coat Nubar Hologram Glitter to all except ring finger
7. To ring finger, 2 coats of Color Club Teal Twinkle
8. To ring finger, 2 thin coats of Glitter Girl Frappe from cuticle to middle of the nail
the gang's all here! |
Revlon Grape Icy is a polish I hated before I did this manicure. It's a scented polish that smells really good but it's too thin to use on the whole nail. It's impossible to get a full even coat (even doing this I had trouble). When I first got this I tried to use it, wound up doing 6 coats and it still was patchy and took eleventy billion* years to dry so I

Skin Food Red Bean BB Cream Review
I have been wanting to try a BB cream for years but I could not find one close to my skin tone. My skin is very pale and pink, most BB creams tend to be too dark and either too yellow or too grey. I looked for ages, read lots of reviews, looked at lots of swatches and then gave up. It wasn't until last month that I started looking again and found one that might just look passable on my face!
Pretty much everyone already knows what BB cream is, but for the people that don't it's kind of supposed to be a miracle product. Face makeup that multitasks and saves time but also improves skin condition. LOL YEAH RIGHT... I know, it sounds crazy. BB stands for blemish balm (or "beblesh" balm in the case of Skin79), basically it's supposed to help get rid of blemishes. BB cream is supposed to also take the place of moisturizer, primer, sunscreen and foundation. Some do other things such as skin lightening, anti-aging, etc. Basically it's supposed to be awesomesauce for your face.
I bought my Skin Food Red Bean BB Cream off Ebay from a Korean seller for about $20 and paid only $2 for shipping. The bottle is 45 ml so it's a pretty good price. The front sticker is completely in English and gives the product name and SPF 20 PA+. The back sticker gives a small blurb in English that says the shade (mine is #1, it only comes in two) and explains what kind of BB cream it is. Red Bean is supposed to be moisturizing with buildable coverage. The rest of the back is all in Korean and I have no idea what it says. I looked around for a translation but couldn't find one. All I can gather is it has some kind of red bean extract among countless other ingredients.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I know this is a "holy grail" product for a lot of people but it brings me endless frustration!
LOVE <3
What I love about this is how fast it dries and that it takes the other layers of polish with it. I don't just wind up with a dry top coat and still soft layers underneath, which leads to smudging. It has saved a number of paint jobs over the years.
The shine is also nice, but I have other top coats that are shinier. They don't dry as fast though.
HATE </3
What I hate about this product is how it has also RUINED a number of paint jobs over the years! Can you say "shrinkage"? If I haven't waited just long enough for the polish to dry I'll wind up with it only covering half my nail when everything finally dries.
The smell is also pretty bad but I could perhaps over look that if it wasn't for everything else... like the peeling! Yes, sometimes for some bizarre reason the top coat just peels right off my nail leaving me with a manicure that looks like my gecko in mid shed!
The other thing I hate is the thickening, I can only get about half way through a bottle before it becomes essentially unusable.
What is it about Seche Vite that keeps me coming back? It really does make my morning mani dry fast enough to go grocery shopping at noon.

Congrats to Sharon Needles
Sharon Needles won the first Drag Race challenge with her creepy and awesome "RuPocolypse" look. As if you couldn't guess she's totally my favorite contestant. I love a
I think I might just have to do a Sharon Needles inspired LOTD.
For those that don't know, RuPaul's Drag Race is the greatest show in the history of television. You can watch full episodes at LogoTv.com! As if this episode couldn't get any more awesome (it had fabulous drag zombies!!!!!!!!), the Mistress of the Dark herself, Elvira was a guest judge. She looked amazing, either she really is immortal or she has a fantastic plastic surgeon.
